ADMISSIONS:
Applications are accepted throughout the school year. Enrollment is open to both private students and public school students in New York and New Jersey.

STUDENTS:
Community High School enrolls nearly 170 students, privately and publicly funded, from 73 sending public school districts throughout five New Jersey counties, as well as New York City, Rockland, and Westchester Counties in New York State.

ACADEMICS PROGRAM:
Community High School offers students a complete high school curriculum in the areas of English, literature, mathematics, history and science. Additional course work is provided to all students, especially those preparing for college.

TUTORIAL PROGRAM:
Community High School
has long recognized that individualized instruction can be far reaching, strengthening a student's skill development, improving self-concept and increasing motivation. Therefore, in addition to small group instruction and individualized attention offered within classes, we have also expanded the remedial classes available for specific skill development.

ELECTIVES PROGRAM:
Community High School Elective Programs offers instruction in foreign language, sociology and psychology, as well as music, computer literacy, drama, fine arts, media, journalism, cooking, photography, video production, computer graphics, graphic arts, word processing, and business.

HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND ATHLETICS:
Community High School provides many opportunities for its students to excel athletically by offering a wide variety of recreational and interscholastic activities.

SOCIAL PROBLEM SOLVING:
Community High School's counseling staff, teachers, and support staff offer students ongoing guidance in the variety of issues and topics that concern teenagers. Counselors, and teacher/mentors help students deal with important social issues and assist them with any problems, concerns, questions, and general needs that the students may have involving school or school-related issues. The school provides all students with options and alternatives for use within problematic situations. The mentor also acts as an advocate with the school administration. Each incoming freshman is assigned a mentor to help with their transition into the high school.

COLLEGE PREPARATION:
Our Guidance Department is responsible for assisting the graduating student in finding the right post-secondary program to further his or her education and maturation. Guidance staff and senior advisors maintain ongoing communication with students and parents to ensure that the selection and application process goes smoothly. Throughout the year seniors fill out applications, write essays and gather teacher recommendations, with the supervision and assistance of the Guidance Staff.

TRANSITIONAL PLANNING:
CAREER EXPLORATION:
Community High School's career planning program is both exploratory and preparatory. Career readiness training is interconnected throughout the curriculum. The career coordinator is assisted by cross-content educators who provide information and instruction geared to each student's transitional plan with the shared goal of moving the student from high school to independent living.

FACULTY:
The Community High School's teaching staff is composed of more than fifty (50) experienced teachers. Special education teachers as well as subject area specialists, many of who hold advanced degrees and multiple certifications, staff classrooms.
